Daily Round Up: I Hate California

I contracted pneumonia, then we lost to Cal and now computer issues. Life cannot get any worse?

Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing. Vince Lombardi

The Big Story

Nonplussed is the only word for this. We lost to Cal. Defensive tackle Paul Boyette summed it up: "The game should never have come down to the last play," Boyette said. "That’s all I can say to that."

Strong is evaluating the staff and may get more involved in the defense. Strong has two weeks to get this figured out so Texas is ready for Big 12 play.

What's up with the defense? There's plenty of talent and the scheme isn't the problem; it's execution. "It’s not a talent issue. We’re the most talented team out there. t’s not a scheme issue. It’s an execution issue. We didn’t do what we’re supposed to do." - defensive end Breckyn Hager

There's good news and then there's bad news. The special teams play was both fabulous and infuriating.

Oops. I assumed during the off-week there would be no presser. I was wrong. I'll try to find the video and post it tomorrow.

Big 12 Stories

This Tech touchdown is confusing, dizzying and absolutely awesome. It goes in the books as a 42-yard touchdown catch for Jonathan Giles from Patrick Mahomes, but it so much more.

It's too bad that storm didn't last all night. OU was demolished by the Ohio State University. The Sooners are still a good team but the Buckeyes are scary good.

Uncle Bill's Kansas State team defeated Florida Atlantic, 63-7. The Wildcats have a heck of a run game.

Hey Baylor, you set yourself up for this. Rice's The MOB made fun of Baylor's football program and Ken Starr. And Art Briles was in attendance and the Baylor fans gave him a standing ovation.
