Texas Longhorns ranked No. 22 in AP Poll, No. 25 in Coaches Poll

The ‘Horns took a step back in each poll after the bye week

NCAA Football: Texas at California John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

The weekly college football polls have been updated and following week four of the season, the Texas Longhorns rank No. 22 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 25 in the Amway Coaches Poll. The rankings are a one-spot drop from the ‘Horns previous ranking of 21st in the AP Poll and 24th in the Coaches Poll.

The sight drop isn’t much of a surprise given where Texas was ranked and having the bye week, but Notre Dame dropping to 1-3 on the season while California fell to Arizona State to reach 2-2 doesn’t help the Longhorns case any.

Texas will head to Stillwater for a week five Saturday morning meeting with Oklahoma State, who will be looking to bounce back from a 35-24 road loss to now-No. 13 Baylor.

Baylor (13, 13), TCU (21, 19) and Texas (22, 25) are the only Big 12 teams ranked in the respective polls.
