4-star SG Charles O’Bannon Jr. sets official visits

The perceived leading Longhorns may have the last word with another elite 2017 talent

Four-star shooting guard and Texas 2017 priority Charles O’Bannon Jr. recently released a list of his official visit dates and as expected, the Longhorns are among those that will host the Bishop Gorman (Nev.) product.

The November 11-13 visit schedule for Texas will allow O’Bannon watch as the ‘Horns host Incarnate Word out of San Antonio, which may not provide much from a crowd and atmosphere perspective, but what will likely be a blowout could provide plenty of minutes for numerous wings; something O’Bannon will be looking for.

The 6’5, 190-pound Las Vegas product is a UCLA legacy, where his father Charles O’Bannon Sr. starred on UCLA’s 1995 championship team alongside O’Bannon Jr.’s uncle, Ed O’Bannon. Fortunately for Texas’ hopes of landing the nation’s No. 5 shooting guard, O’Bannon has noted that he has no problem leaving the west coast, and considering Shaka Smart just landed a Minnesota legacy in four-star power forward Jericho Sims, there’s reason to believe the same can be done with O’Bannon.

That said, UCLA certainly looks to be the biggest threat to Texas, though, the Longhorns hold all 11 of O’cannon’s 247 Crystal Ball projections.

O’Bannon ranks as the nation’s No. 36 player and the No. 2 player in Nevada, per 247Sports Composite.
