Texas Longhorns vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish gamethread

Let's Ride!

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Hello, friends. The longest offseason for the Texas Longhorns is now officially over, as the 'Horns will once again take the field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for the first time since last Thanksgiving as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish come to town.

The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC as the entire nation turns its eyes to Central Texas to watch head coach Charlie Strong start his pivotal third season. The exposure increase the stakes, as does the presence of no fewer than four five-star prospects, including key 2017 targets like offensive tackle Walker Little, defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, and linebacker Baron Browning.

And there's even a new baby Bevo, the 15h of his name. He'll make his official debut on the 100th anniversary of the steer's first appearance at a Texas game, a 21-7 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies.

Long may he reign!

This is your gamethread, y'all. Hook 'em, and beat Notre Dame!
