The Texas Longhorns will play the majority of the second half without senior safety Dylan Haines after the starter suffered a head injury.

Depending on the severity, Haines could miss more time, but his replacement, fellow senior Kevin Vaccaro, who was rather surprisingly listed as the back up to Haines ahead of freshman Brandon Jones, quickly made his presence felt with a key third-down sack of Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire for a loss of 11 yards.

The play ended the drive following a beautiful 75-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Shane Buechele to sophomore wide receiver John Burt.
