On the current version of the Texas Longhorns, there are few players who better epitomize the team-before-self attitude of senior quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, who scored the game-winning touchdown against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on a six-yard run in double overtime:

The play set off absolute pandemonium in the end zone with Texas players and in the stands. With the win, the ‘Horns emerged once again on the national stage and Swoopes was a huge part of that success with 13 carries for 53 yards and three huge touchdowns.
What a win, what a scene, what a player.
For all of his flaws as a passer, Swoopes has emerged as an impactful influence on the Longhorns offense — credit to him and to new offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert for employing him successfully in his debut in Austin.
