More than 30 prospects from the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes were in attendance at Darrell K. Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium Sunday night when the Longhorns knocked off No. 10 Notre Dame. Among those was four-star athlete Joshua Moore.
Moore visited Texas during what can be argued as the most exciting game in recent memory, which also set the attendance record at DKR, so it’s no surprise the 2018 Yoakum product raved about his visit.
"Man the win was great," Moore told Burnt Orange Nation. "They fought all four quarters and never gave up! The fans were into it the WHOLE time! It was pretty impressive to see all of that.”
In addition to the electric atmosphere, Moore said being able to be on the field and in the locker room with the players and coaches following Texas double-overtime win “was great.” In the time he was able to speak with the coaches last night, Moore said the Texas coaching staff’s message to was, "you know we want you here. Come be a part of something special."
Moore said the Longhorns are high on his list, along with Florida State, Texas A&M and UCLA. The love the Texas coaching staff and current players show him is what has stood out the most, to this point. LSU is likely to jump into the mix now, as well, after the Tigers offered Moore on Monday; an offer he said was from his “childhood dream school.”
Moore has already been on Texas’ campus a few times, as has his brother Jordan. Both hold Texas offers. Moore said he plans on playing college football with his brother, but noted that those plans could change.
Moore ranks as 2018’s No. 90 player, No. 13 wide receiver and the No. 9 player in Texas, Per 247Sports Composite.
