Four-star inside linebacker Anthony Hines will be taking an official visit to Texas next weekend, according to The Football Braniacs’ Andrew King.
Some big news I just confirmed, Plano East (TX) ILB Anthony Hines plans to officially visit #Texas next weekend. Was at #TAMU this weekend.

The Plano East high schooler is perhaps the number one name on Texas’ recruiting board, as he is rated by Scout as the 19th overall prospect, the best overall inside linebacker, and the best player from the state of Texas for his class.
In July, the ‘Horns made the cut for Hines’ top 10 schools, but Oklahoma has been pegged as the favorite by most experts, with 56% of Crystal Ball predictions currently in favor of the Sooners.
But if Texas trails in Hines’ recruitment, it’s not by much. Hines’ desire for a strong business school, and his close relationship with Charlie Strong make the ‘Horns a serious contender.
Hines was not one of the more than 25 recruits at the Notre Dame game Sunday night, as he took an official visit to Texas A&M this weekend and witnessed the Aggies defeating UCLA. However, the Longhorn victory could’ve made a serious impact on the 6’3, 218 pounder who predicted in the off-season that the ‘Horns would “dominate this year.”
Amidst the exhilaration from Sunday night, it’s easy to forget that Texas’ instant classic victory over the Fighting Irish could leave just as crucial of an imprint on recruits as it did the fans. At least ESPN writer Gerry Hamilton thinks so.
I'm willing to bet #Texas gets a commitment or two in next couple of days.

Hines has set his decision date for November 29th, where he will choose between Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Alabama, Ohio State, and others.
