Injuries kept former Texas Longhorns safety Erik Huhn off the field for the burnt orange and white, but on Saturday, Huhn announced that he will pursue a graduate transfer in an effort to continue his football career:
Will always be a Longhorn but excited for what the future has in store! pic.twitter.com/JaHXwgzrMA

The 6’3, 209-pounder was last on the Longhorns roster in 2014, when he underwent knee surgery in September. Despite the setback that effectively ended his career with the ‘Horns, Huhn apparently kept the dreams of playing college football alive.
A consensus three-star prospect out of Cibolo Steele in the class of 2013, Huhn was ranked as the No. 32 safety nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. However, his injury problems started in high school — he suffered an ACL injury during the first game of his senior season and then redshirted due to a shoulder injury.
He was not on the 2015 or 2016 rosters for the Longhorns.
