The official visit weekend for the Texas Longhorns produced an offer for Ole Miss Rebels defensive tackle commit Larrell Murchison, a junior college prospect from Louisburg College, he told multiple outlets.

The 6’4, 277-pounder currently holds offers from Ole Miss and Houston and committed to the Rebels a day after receiving it in early January. An official visit with the Cougars is set for next weekend and his official visit with the Rebels for the final weekend before National Signing Day.

The question now is where the ‘Horns stand ahead of those trips and while it’s hard to predict whether his visit with head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff will lock up his commitment, there were three 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions made for Texas in the immediate aftermath of the offer.

So that’s a positive sign as the Longhorns attempt to land a defensive tackle in 2017.

Another junior college defensive tackle prospect, Jamari Chisholm of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, was also on campus this weekend, but he either hasn’t been offered or that news hasn’t broken yet.

For now, it appears that Murchison is the most likely defensive tackle to end up in the Texas recruiting class.
