4-star OT Stephan Zabie sets Texas official visit

With Grant Polley affirming his pledge to the Colorado Buffaloes on Monday evening, the official visit former Westlake offensive tackle Stephan Zabie will take to Austin this weekend for the Texas Longhorns increases in importance.

Reported by Horns247, the official visit could lock up the commitment of the 6’5, 290-pounder, though it’s unknown whether he has any decision timetable or if he will take another official visit on the weekend before National Signing Day.

Zabie received his offer from the ‘Horns on Monday, sparking a flood of Crystal Ball projections in favor of Texas.

Since early enrollee quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s former teammate has already taken an unofficial visit to campus back in August, Zabie already had some familiarity with the facilities.

And, right now, it doesn’t appear that there are any other serious threats to Texas in his recruitment — Oklahoma was once considered the favorite, but it’s unclear whether he’s taken an official visit to Norman or anywhere else. There are no visits listed on his 247Sports timeline.

So expect the consensus four-star prospect to eventually become a member of the 2017 Texas recruiting class.
