The 6’4, 223-pounder committed to Auburn in early December of 2015 and took an unofficial visit last October. However, he also visited Florida State last year and could be looking for other opportunities since the departure of offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee.
In fact, the Seminoles are now considered the favorite to flip him.
From Jacksonville (Fla.) Bartram Trail, Gatewood also holds nearly 30 other offers, including Clemson, Florida, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, West Virginia, and many others.
A consensus four-star prospect, Gatewood is ranked as the No. 51 prospect nationally, the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback, and the No. 13 player in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
