An interesting offer went out from the Texas Longhorns on Thursday to England (Ark.) jumbo athlete BJ Thompson on Thursday:

Officially classified as a tight end in the recruiting rankings, Thompson could play that position, defensive end, and possibly even wide receiver in college. Right now, the biggest need for the ‘Horns is probably at receiver in the 2017 class.
In late November, Thompson committed to Washington State, but decided to re-open his recruitment on Wednesday after taking an official visit to Pullman last weekend.
The 6’7, 205-pounder also picked up an offer from Purdue on Thursday and plans on visiting Baylor on January 27. It’s not clear whether or not Thompson has a visit lined up for this weekend, but his 247Sports profile does not list any planned official visit for him.
Ranked as a consensus three-star prospect, Thompson is considered the No. 2,048 prospect nationally, the No. 98 tight end, and the No. 17 player in Arkansas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Thompson had a big senior season playing on both sides of the ball, catching 37 passes for 601 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 16.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
