Despite hosting LSU Tigers cornerback commit Kary Vincent for a surprise official visit last weekend, don’t expect the Port Arthur Memorial product to flip to the Texas Longhorns on National Signing Day:
I'm not going to Texas ... sorry not sorry ♂️ #GeauxTigers
— Kary Vincent Jr. (@__KCINCO) January 26, 2017
The 5’11, 170-pounder was interested in Texas prior to committing to LSU last summer and new head coach Tom Herman recruited Vincent hard enough at Houston to earn the trip last weekend.
However, Vincent has been adamant since his pledge that he’s locked in to the Tigers. With some prospects, that doesn’t mean much, but the unequivocal public statement from the 2017 Under Armour All-American should make his recruitment all but official.
Next Wednesday, the likelihood of Vincent sending his National Letter of Intent to LSU head coach Ed Orgeron looks like it stands near 100 percent, if not at that mark precisely.
So, despite the best efforts of Herman and his staff, Kary Vincent will not be the next Erick Fowler.
Step on up, Javelin Guidry.
