According to Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman, Tuesday will be a big day for junior left tackle Connor Williams, to will practice in full pads for the first time since sustaining a knee injury against the USC Trojans early in the season.

On Saturday, Williams dressed but did not play against the Kansas Jayhawks after working out against the scout team last week in non-contact work. During practice on Sunday, Williams was in short and a helmet.

“Tomorrow will be a big test for him — you know, put the full pads on, put him in inside drill and bang him around a little bit and see how he feels,” Herman said.

So, “barring a setback,” Herman expects Williams to play this week against the West Virginia Mountainers, which would solidify a position that has been struggling mightily since his injury.
