The biggest challenge may be one where Del Conte has little direct control -- getting football back to 10-win seasons and Big 12 contention. If football succeeds, everything else should fall into place. Except that's not guaranteed. Texas needs a win in the Texas Bowl to avoid its fourth consecutive losing record. Texas has gone through long stretches of struggling. DeLoss Dodds was feeling some pressure before hiring Mack Brown back in 1998.
