At some point on Sunday following the announcement of the four College Football Playoff participants on ESPN, the Texas Longhorns will receive a bowl berth.
Here’s where various publications believe head coach Tom Herman’s team is heading:
- Sports Illustrated has Texas facing off against Utah in the Texas Bowl on Wednesday, December 27.
- In the SB Nation projections, the ‘Horns are headed to the Texas Bowl to play Missouri.
- CBS has Texas playing UCLA in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on Tuesday, December 26.
- From ESPN, one analyst as Texas in the Texas Bowl against Mississippi State. The other has the ‘Horns and Texas A&M playing in the Texas Bowl.
So the consensus is that the first bowl game for the Longhorns since 2014 will once again be in Houston for the Texas Bowl. The biggest drama seems to surround the opponent.
