The leading tackler for the Texas Longhorns could miss the Texas Bowl against the Missouri Tigers as a result of turf toe, as the school revealed on Sunday that junior linebacker Malik Jefferson hasn’t practiced recently.
Orangebloods believes that Jefferson will miss the bowl game and declare for the 2018 NFL Draft. Last week, Jefferson denied a report that he’s planning on foregoing his final season of eligibility, but it would hardly be a surprise given the circumstances.
Ranked as the state’s No. 1 prospect in the 2015 class, Jefferson broke through to stardom during his junior season, earning recognition as a Butkus Award semifinalist. He was also named Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
