A recruitment originally set to end in late October will finally come to close on Wednesday shortly after 3 p.m. CT, when Houston Lamar cornerback Anthony Cook will make his decision between three finalists on ESPNU.

The 2018 US Army All-American will pick between the LSU Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Texas Longhorns prior to enrolling early at the school of his choice.

After an official visit to Austin in late September, Cook named the ‘Horns his co-leader with the Buckeyes. By late October, days before Cook’s original planned decision date, the 247Sports Crystal Ball had swung firmly in favor of Texas. However, LSU still looms as a potential threat for head coach Tom Herman’s program as Ohio State has faded.

If playing time becomes a deciding factor for Cook, the departure of junior cornerback Holton Hill could help the Longhorns, though the Tigers could also lose two cornerbacks early to the NFL Draft.

A 6’0, 168-pounder, Cook is a consensus four-star prospect ranked as the No. 33 player nationally, the No. 5 cornerback, and the No. 2 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
