With four prospects already signed by the Texas Longhorns in the 2018 recruiting class, head coach Shaka Smart continues to pursue a guard, with St. Louis (Mo.) Webster Grove standout Courtney Ramey looming as his top target.
The good news for Texas is that the former Louisville commit has set his official visit to Austin for December 28, according to 247Sports. Ramey will also take an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend and Villanova in February, so he clearly doesn’t expect his recruitment to end any time soon.
Notably missing from that list is Missouri, which seemingly took a big lead in Ramey’s recruitment following his decommitment — the Tigers currently hold all of his recent 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions.
Perhaps the biggest question facing the ‘Horns is how much playing time Smart can offer Ramey, as freshman Matt Coleman should be back next season and combo guard transfer Elijah Long from Mount St. Mary’s will also be eligible.
Ramey is currently ranked as the No. 45 prospect nationally, the No. 10 point guard, and the No. 1 player in Missouri, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
