On Friday, Marshall offensive guard Chasen Hines released his list of top five schools, with the Texas Longhorns remaining in the mix:

As evidenced by the attached graphic, Hines is also considering LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas A&M at this time.

Offered by the previous staff following a strong performance at the Under The Lights camp last July, head coach Tom Herman and offensive line coach Derek Warehime have continued recruiting the 6’2, 340-pounder from East Texas.

In fact, Hines is one of the key targets for Warehime in this cycle — Warehime would be his position coach and is also his area recruiter, as the Oklahoma native has taken over the duties of recruiting East Texas from former tight ends coach Jeff Traylor.

Most of the other offers for Hines have come more recently, with LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M all extending those invitations to Hines in the last month. TCU, on the other hand, was the second offer for the big interior lineman, coming eight days before Texas joined his recruitment.

Currently, however, the ‘Horns are perceived to be in a strong position with Hines — all five predictions in his 247Sports Crystal Ball favor Texas, with Horns247’s EJ Holland putting in his pick on Friday.

Things could change as Hines takes more visits, but for now, it looks like Hines is the most likely interior lineman to end up in the 2018 recruiting class.
