Texas Longhorns baseball (28-15) will take on the No.24 Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns (26-14-1) Tuesday at 6:30 pm CST at Constellation Field in Sugar Land.

Riding an eight game winning streak, the Ragin’ Cajuns are one of Texas’ most formidable mid-week foes of the year.

UL Lafayette is hitting .278 as a team — an average that only three Longhorn players are hitting at or better than. Leadoff hitter Ishmael Edwards is batting .321 and has 10 doubles and five triples. Steven Sensley leads the Ragin’ Cajuns in batting average (.331) and homers (7) and could pose problems for the ‘Horns in the clean up spot.

Blair Henley (4.07 ERA) will get the start for Texas. The freshman last appeared in 1.1 innings of relief on April 22nd against New Orleans, where he allowed a run on one hit and two walks.

Don’t be shocked if Nolan Kingham (1.98 ERA) comes on for an inning or two of relief if tonight’s game is close. The sophomore stud missed his start last weekend due to an academic issue and has only thrown 7.2 innings since April 13th.

It’s likely that David Pierce will hold Kingham so that he can start on Friday, but in a crucial top 25 match-up and an inconsistent Longhorn bullpen, anything is possible.

Evan Guillory (4.04 ERA) will take the hill for Louisiana-Lafayette. The junior righty threw 4.1 scoreless innings against in his last appearance, which was a start against Tulane on April 18th.
