With Saturday’s news that the Texas Longhorns will host yet another 2018 quarterback prospect in Corona (Calif.) Centennial’s Tanner McKee will visit next week, speculation surfaced once again regarding the status of Moore (Okla.) Southmoore pledge Casey Thompson.
The Sooners legacy quickly did all he could to put to rest any concerns about the solidity of his commitment.
Tanner McKee is listed as 2018 but he's Mormon and goes on a mission trip for 2 years, so technically he's a 2020. Thank you

I knew Texas planned to take 2 QB's from the jump, I knew they were recruiting Cameron Rising and I knew he'd commit before it went public

Me and the coaches have a very good relationship. Open and honest Things get twisted and distorted but as long as I know and they know.

When you only have 2 QB's on roster at the D1 level, you know you need depth

So don’t make too much of the fact that the ‘Horns are hosting McKee or that head coach Tom Herman and offensive coordinator Tim Beck accepted the pledge of the highly-rated Cameron Rising last week.
At least for the moment.
