In the world of football coaching, no name sends deeper ripples than that of the longtime New England Patriots head coach and five-time Super Bowl champion.

This weekend, Belichick is bringing his coaching knowledge to the 40 Aces to serve as the keynote speaker at the All-Access Texas Coaches Clinic for High School Coaches.

“It's a tribute to the guys that have played for us, not just at The University of Texas but also as a coaching staff that have gone there, the Malcom Browns of the world and the Elandon Roberts of the world, that coach Belichick would want to come and do that and want to spend some time,” Herman said on Thursday.

In addition to the keynote speech, Herman also wants to take advantage of Belichick’s knowledge to have him speak with the team on Saturday before the ‘Horns scrimmage for the final time before the Orange-White game. And Belichick also agreed to spend some time with the staff, which will be a valuable growth opportunity.

Unsurprisingly, the longstanding relationships that Herman has with high school coaches and the presence of Belichick have made for unprecedented numbers of registrants.

“It’s our privilege to give back to the high school coaches in the state,” Herman said. “It will be, according to Jan Allgood, the most attended high school spring clinic that we’ve ever had here, which is a testament obviously to [Belichick’s] draw power, but also to our relationships with the high school coaches and their feeling welcome to come here to Austin.”
