Tom Herman’s staff has placed an emphasis on recruiting the St. Louis area this cycle and such efforts are evident with Lutheran North (Mo.) weak-side defensive end Ronnie Perkins including the Texas Longhorns in his top 12 on Wednesday.
Along with Texas, Perkins also listed Michigan, Oklahoma, Missouri, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa State, USC, LSU, Nebraska, TCU and Iowa.

A four-star prospect, Perkins holds 31 total offers to date. UCLA, Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Penn State are among the programs that have extended scholarships but missed the cut.
The Longhorns offered Perkins in late January, but are yet to get the Missouri native to visit the Forty Acres, which will be essential if Texas wants to remain in the mix going forward.
At 6’4, 250 pounds, Perkins ranks as the nation’s No. 136 player, No. 7 weak-side defensive end and the No. 4 player in Missouri, according to 247Sports Composite.
