David Pierce has plenty of open spots to fill in his 2018 roster, but that doesn’t mean he can’t work on his 2019 team too.
Right-handed pitcher Mason Bryant committed to the ‘Horns on Saturday, according to McCallum High School’s Twitter page. Bryant will be a senior at McCallum next year.

Bryant is an accomplished position player in addition to pitching. He was a second team All-District selection as an outfielder in 2017 and hit two homers for the team as of April 17.
The Austin product continues the long line of excellent two sport athletes who have committed to Pierce, as Bryant is also a wide receiver on McCallum’s varsity football team.
Listed at 6’5, 210 pounds on his Hudl page, Thompson has the size and the heat from the mound to be an impact college player. With a fastball in the 90s, the currently unranked prospect is likely just scraping the surface of what he could be.
Bryant is the 11th player committed to Texas’ 2018 class. Before Bryant’s commitment, the ‘Horns were ranked as the No. 24 class for 2018.
