Texas Longhorns football has offered four-star inside linebacker Damone Clark, according to Clark’s Twitter page.

The Baton Rouge native is rated as the No. 272 overall recruit and the No. 12 inside linebacker for the 2018 class.

Clark committed to LSU on January 15, but since then has received offers from Texas A&M, Arizona State, Ole Miss, and Michigan in addition to Texas.

Clark visited Austin with his Southern University Lab School teammate, Kardell Thomas, this past weekend, according to 247 Sports.

Clark’s stock has continued to grow this summer after he was named to the high school Butkus Award watch list on July 17. The honor is given to the best high school linebacker in the nation.

The Longhorns already have two linebacker commits in four-star Ayodele Adeoye (No. 4 overall ILB) and Byron Hobbs (No. 24 overall OLB).

With the near imminent departure of Malik Jefferson after the 2017 season to the pros, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Tom Herman to add a third linebacker to the 2018 class.
