Just six months ago, Shaka Smart hosted several in-state targets, including prospects like Quentin Grimes, De’Vion Harmon and Greg Brown, among others. Then there was 6'9 wing, Quinn Slazinski. He currently holds offers from California, Texas A&M, Michigan, Michigan State and of course, the Longhorns.

Burnt Orange Nation was recently able to catch up with Slazinski, who detailed his visit to Texas, Smart's system, the coaching staff in Austin and more.

BON: After meeting and speaking with Longhorns coaching staff, describe them.

Quinn Slazinski: They’re great guys, really trying to form a family rather than just a basketball team. I'm very close with Coach Horn and Jai Lucas; I've been on a few visits and they make me feel at home during them. What Coach Smart did at VCU was unbelievable, and I believe he will do the same as years go on at UT.

BON: Describe the playing style. How would you fit into that kind of system that Coach Smart runs?

Quinn Slazinski: He plays big long guards that can play the wing; I think I can bring a lot to the table. Pass, shoot, run the floor, I believe my game is versatile.

BON: Can you imagine yourself as a Texas Longhorn?

Quinn Slazinski: Well I'm open to all options right now, but I do have an interest in the Longhorns.

BON had some extra time to speak with Quinn after our interview. He is very close with Texas and loves the coaching staff.

He added in that he has spoken to players from each team that has been recruiting him, whether it’s former players or current. He also noted he has a great relationship with Horn and Lucas.

The 2019 Houston-area wing is a name to know going forward.
