As the Texas Longhorns have bolstered the future of the secondary with high-level 2018 commits, one of the program’s top 2019 targets included the ‘Horns among his six finalists on Sunday:

As the edit indicates, the nation’s consensus No. 1 safety in the 2019 class is also still considering Arkansas, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Stanford.

The offer to Williams was one of the first extended by head coach Tom Herman upon arrival in Austin, so position coach Craig Naivar has already spent a significant amount of time pursuing the 6’0, 185-pounder.

As a result, Texas is considered the leader for the Dallas Bishop Dunne product with four 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions put in for the ‘Horns during July. Notre Dame is also considered a strong threat to land Williams.

A consensus five-star prospect with more than 30 offers, Williams is ranked as the No. 7 player nationally, the No. 1 safety, and the No. 1 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
