Texas will not under-estimate the Cyclones.

“By my math, they’re winning the point differential in Ames 55-30,” Herman said. “There will be zero taking of this football team lightly. I don’t know why we would be with the history they have against us and against any big opponent that comes into Ames.”

The Texas backfield is at a crossroads.

But the glaring stat in all of this is that Warren only touched the ball four times, and his counterpart, Porter, touched it five. The production from both Warren and Porter this season has been mostly underwhelming.

The Longhorns were defeated 24-0 the last time the two programs squared off in Ames (2015)

The Daily Texan believes the Corona sponsroship is misguided.

This new partnership between UT Athletics and Corona Extra should raise concerns for anyone with ties to the University. As campuses struggle with challenges associated with drinking and problems that follow excessive alcohol use, it’s hard to see UT’s decision as a wise one. When universities like UT appear to endorse student drinking through partnerships with alcohol companies, even in the context of “responsible drinking,” it sends a message that the UT administration is not concerned with underage drinking.

Maybe the government should reconsider that 29 million dollar pledge to UT to research how to combat alcoholism?

Don’t ignore TCU.

“We wanted to be relevant,” said Patterson, whose team toiled in obscurity all offseason after going 6-7 last year. “You want to win enough ballgames that people take notice.

“But it was also an advantage for us that no one was giving us a chance.”
