Ames Will Be Hostile

Jack Trice Stadium can be a hostile place to play.

“I think it’s just the fact that when it comes to here (Ames), they have the idea that anything is possible,” Mozey said. “They’re home, they’re also the underdogs for most of these games … The fact that they’re underdogs is also one of those things where they’re like, ‘We’ll give it our all because we have nothing to lose.”

Iowa State ranks last among the 10 Big 12 Conference teams in opponents third down conversions. Opponents have converted an alarming rate of 47.7 percent (21-of-44) of the time. The Cyclones also rank 115th among all FBS teams in that category. Only 14 other teams have a worse percentage.
