Another important Texas Longhorns target will join Yoakum wide receiver Joshua Moore in Austin this weekend, as Alabama Crimson Tide athlete commit Vernon Jackson is slated to take his official visit, according to multiple reports.
The 6’3, 240-pounder played quarterback for Boling, but is expected to move to defensive end in college.
Back in September, Jackson pledged to the Crimson Tide before opting to keep his options open by declining to sign during the early period. The Aggies may also be a contender for Jackson if he decides to take a visit to College Station this month.
For Texas, Jackson is a key target because position coach Oscar Giles doesn’t yet have any defensive ends committed and the Longhorns are not the clear leader for any other unsigned recruits along the defensive line.
A consensus three-star prospect, Jackson is ranked as the No. 533 player nationally, the No. 39 athlete, and the No. 73 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
