As Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman continues to evaluate options for a permanent 10th assistant coach, Assistant Director of Player Personnel Bryan Carrington will fill that role in an interim capacity, according to Horns247 and other reports.
The move allows Carrington to serve in a recruiting capacity with the dead period ending on Thursday and the ‘Horns entering a critical stretch in the lead up to National Signing Day in February.
In fact, Carrington was already on the road Friday morning:

The Houston alum drew rave reviews from recruits who signed during the early period after joining Herman in Austin last offseason. And while he was able to make an impact for Texas in recruiting when prospects visited campus, he wasn’t able to go on the road previously.
Now he’ll have a chance to solidify his standing as one of the rising stars around college football.
