In an attempt to bolster depth at the linebacker position, the Texas Longhorns extended an offer on Friday to Arkansas Razorbacks commit Andrew Parker:
Blessed to say that I have received an offer from The University of Texas. #LongHorns pic.twitter.com/gX3p8WWh19

The 6’1.5, 225 pounder from New Orleans (La.) Sophie B. Wright is a fast-rising prospect on the recruiting trail. In December he was receiving offers from schools like McNeese State and Georgetown, but after the early signing period, bigger schools started to enter the picture.
On January 12, Arkansas offered, quickly securing an official visit and Parker’s commitment five days ago. Since then, Colorado State and Texas A&M have both offered.
Parker’s recruitment started in earnest so late in the process that he may still be open to hearing from schools like Texas, which could have a chance to get him on campus for the final visit weekend. In fact, TFB reported on Friday that Parker is “likely” to visit Austin.
Parker is a consensus three-star prospect ranked as the No. 1,667 player nationally, the 68 inside linebacker, and the No. 67 player in Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
