Attempts to fill out the 2018 recruiting class continued for the Texas Longhorns on Friday evening with an offer extended to Cypress Woods offensive tackle Christian Jones:

The 6’6, 285-pounder committed to SMU last June, but saw his recruitment take off during the fall, gaining offers from Virginia, Vanderbilt, Cal, Colorado State, and Syracuse before decommitting yesterday.
So far, Jones has taken official visits to Virginia and Cal and is set to visit UCLA this weekend, though he doesn’t yet hold an offer from the Bruins. An official visit to Vanderbilt is scheduled for next weekend, pending any developments with Texas.
Jones can also play defensive end, so it wasn’t immediately clear where the Longhorns want him.
A consensus three-star prospect, Jones is ranked as the No. 758 player nationally, the 59 offensive tackle, and the No. 107 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
