As head coach Tom Herman noted on Monday, the bye week was “really good” and “very timely” for the Texas Longhorns, as the team was able to recover from the grind of seven football games in seven weeks.
As a result, the injury report heading into Saturday’s game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys is not lengthy. Of course, the major concern is the health of sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s throwing shoulder, but otherwise, there are only a few minor injuries.
Senior tight end Andrew Beck isn’t injured, but he is recovering from strep throat, which kept him out of Sunday’s practice. He’s expected to return to practice on Tuesday.
Junior linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch is still recovering from his single-car accident last week, which resulted in a neck strain. He will also return to practice on Tuesday.
There was also an injury suffered during the bye week, as sophomore cornerback Josh Thompson hyper extended his knee, but he’s expected to practice with limitations on Tuesday after missing several practices.
