In a completely shocking and uncouth development that is an absolute outrage to the cherished traditions of college football*, the Texas Tech Red Raiders put the Texas Longhorns band in the upper reaches of Jones AT&T Stadium for Saturday’s game in Lubbock:

In a more shocking development, the purveyors of bad faith mock outrage were nowhere to be found. Incredible.
The reference here, of course, is the tiniest scandal in the history of college sports, which resulted in Texas athletics director Chris Del Conte publicly explaining that he values putting Longhorns students close to the field more than he values giving opposing bands some of the best seats in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Because that’s his job.
Burnt Orange Nation has reached out to a high-profile purveyor of that outrage, but has not received a response as of publication.
*No one actually cares about this, nor should they, and home teams have the right to stick opposing bands wherever they want.
