No. 14 Texas vs. Kansas game thread

Time to punch that ticket to Jerry World.

NCAA Football: Kansas at Texas John Gutierrez-USA TODAY Sports

Just a little more than two years after suffering one of the worst defeats in program history in Lawrence, the No. 14-ranked Texas Longhorns are back with a chance to exorcise some demons against the Kansas Jayhawks.

The game kicks off at 11 a.m. Central on FS1.

Texas will be without senior linebacker Gary Johnson due to a violation of team rules, but sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger will start after sitting out the second half last weekend against Iowa State due to an AC contusion of his right shoulder.

The Longhorns are 16-point favorites in a game that features some high stakes for Texas — a win puts head coach Tom Herman’s team into the Big 12 Championship Game. A loss would require wins by Oklahoma and Iowa State to play for the program’s first conference title since 2009.
