Since the linebacker position is one of major need in the 2019 recruiting class for the Texas Longhorns, defensive coordinator Todd Orlando extended an offer on Wednesday to Dodge City CC standout Lakia Henry:

The 6’1, 230-pounder also received offers in recent days from Alabama and Texas A&M. Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Iowa State offered him last year. According to 247Sports, Arizona State also offered, but it doesn’t appear that Henry announced that offer on his Twitter page.

After playing high school football in Vidalia, Georgia, Henry landed at Dodge City, where he was listed as playing in three games on the school’s website. In the final contest, he had 18 tackles and two tackles for loss. However, 247Sports lists him as recording 110 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks as a freshman.

In the early junior college rankings by 247Sports, Henry is a four-star prospect ranked as the No. 2 junior college prospect and the No. 1 junior college inside linebacker.
