Oscar Giles and the Texas defensive line have officially scored one of Louisiana’s top prospects, as three-star jumbo athlete Michael Williams signed with the Texas Longhorns on National Signing Day, following his commitment to the ‘Horns on January 22.

The Baton Rouge (La.) native is ranked as the No. 526 prospect in the 2018 class, the No. 38 athlete, and the No. 21 prospect in Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Williams picked the ‘Horns over Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, and others.
Though Williams projects as a defensive lineman in college, he played quarterback for the Dunham School in Baton Rouge. At 6’2, 263 pounds, Williams has the frame to develop at defensive line, but obviously may need some time to adjust to his new position.
Williams’ athleticism is apparent on film, as he averaged 7.4 yards per carry in 2017 and also threw for six touchdowns. Watch him run over people! It’s fun, because Williams is a freakish athlete for his size.
