Post-game relief thread: Texas survives game Iowa State team, 68-64

Stop. Take a deep breath. Exhale.

The weight of the moment clearly impacted the Texas Longhorns in Kansas City on Wednesday evening for the Big 12 tournament, but Shaka Smart’s team held off the Iowa State Cyclones late for a needed 68-64 win.

The ‘Horns struggled shooting in the first half and Lindell Wigginton was huge for the Cyclones with 20 points, but a late 16-3 run and just enough late in the second half pulled out the win.

More coming in a bit from Cody, but for now, there’s a lot of relief in the fact that Texas took care of business. Without Mo Bamba and Eric Davis Jr. and Andrew Jones, it was never going to be pretty against a team that was depleted itself, but the Longhorns did enough.
