Before the Texas Longhorns take a week off for spring break, the coaches staged a “Sun’s out, guns out” event to officially end the offseason conditioning program. Texas will start spring practice after the break.

Pictures of the event offered some opportunities to assess the progress of certain players, a favored offseason past time for those obsessed with Longhorns football.

Early enrollee quarterback Casey Thompson has definitely been using his time in the weight room to good effect. And look at how many quarterbacks there are! Amazing.

Thompson does have anything on junior safety Brandon Jones, though, who is creepily lurking in the background of this picture. My goodness.

The big news from the event is that safeties coach Craig Naivar apparently has a DJ alter ego, DJ Diablo Naranja. More remarkably, DJ Diablo Naranja apparently likes to perform with a flamethrower attached to his guitar. Now that’s metal.

No word, however, on whether or not noted MC Herb Hand laid down some lyrics for DJ Diablo Naranja.

But, there is now also video of wide receivers coach Corby Meekins dancing:

Fun times on the Forty Acres.
