Texas beat the Land Thieves in baseball. Texas finished the series 2-1 against the Sooners, moving to 11-4 overall in Big 12 Conference play.

Kody Clemens has arrived. Clemens is batting .361 and has hit 11 home runs this season. He is considered one of the premier baseball talents in the country.

Zach Zubia is the Big 12 Newcomer award for the second straight week.

The women’s tennis team wins a share of the Big 12 title. The team took the doubles point and commanded the singles session to a 4-0 victory over West Virginia.

The Horns’ eighth largest stadium in the country is getting a makeover. The athletic department is looking for a construction firm for DKR’s 140 million dollar expansion of the stadium’s south end.

Mack Brown is coming back to the 40 Acres. Brown will be an LHN color analyst for the Orange-White game.

Some other stuff


Bob Stoops will have his own statue outside OU’s stadium. Stoops joins statues of Bennie Owen, Bud Wilkinson and Barry Switzer at Oklahoma’s Memorial Stadium.

Kickoffs are on their way out. The NCAA’s Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved a new rule that allows a team to fair catch any kickoff inside their 25-yard line for a touchback. It’s not officially dead, but kickoffs are on life support.

Alabama high school football games will have instant replay.
