The most important in-state cornerback target for the Texas Longhorns will make a decision this summer, as Spring Dekaney product Marcus Banks revealed his commitment timetable on Saturday:

The 6’0, 170-pounder was originally set to take his official visit to Texas last weekend, but there’s no evidence he ended up making the trip as planned. Texas A&M has already hosted him and the Longhorns have gotten him on campus several times this year. LSU is scheduled to receive an official visit from Banks in early June. He’s also made a recent trip to Alabama.

With seven of eight 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, Texas is considered the overwhelming favorite for Banks over LSU.

Had Banks committed in early March as originally planned, the Horns were the likely choice. However, schools like Alabama and Texas A&M could both have legitimate shots of landing the consensus three-star prospect.

Banks is ranked as the No. 400 player nationally, the No. 36 cornerback, and the No. 49 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
