This is a very critical series for Texas who can’t afford a poor showing if they still want a shot at hosting a regional.

TCU has had a down year, headlined by a handful of bad luck with injuries. Power hitting first baseman Luken Baker is an injury that has impacted this TCU team the most, and his presence in the lineup is definitely missed.

Tonight for Texas, Nolan Kingham will toe the rubber tonight for the ‘Horns as he will go against sophomore southpaw, Nick Lodolo and the rest of the TCU lineup.

This is a very winnable series for the Longhorns and if the pitching staff can just come out and take care of business, David Pierce and company should be able to put TCU away and finish the season out strong going into the Big 12 tournament.

The Longhorns remain in the thick of things in the Big 12 race so as long as they do their job this weekend, they will be in the best position possible to take the top spot from Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech travels to Stillwater this weekend for a 3 game set against the Cowboys.
