On Thursday, the Texas Longhorns announced the 2018-19 non-conference schedule for the men’s basketball program, which will include visits to the Erwin Center by the Purdue Boilermakers, Providence Friars, and VCU Rams.

In addition, the Longhorns will travel to Sin City for the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational after hosting regional games against Louisiana Monroe and The Citadel in mid-November. The championship round will include Michigan State, North Carolina, and UCLA, but the match ups have not yet been determined.

The season opener is set for November 6 against Eastern Illinois. Then the Horns travel to Fort Bliss in El Paso to play a neutral site game against the Razorbacks as part of the Armed Forces Classic on November 9.

The marquee home games will all come during a long stretch of home games in December — Smart’s former program, VCU, will travel to Austin on December 5, Purdue comes to town on December 9, and Providence plays Texas on December 21.

The full non-conference schedule is available here.

The Big 12 Conference schedule isn’t set yet, but is scheduled to begin during the first week of 2019. Texas will play a non-conference game after the start of Big 12 play when it travels to Athens to play Georgia as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge on January 26.
