There haven’t been any complications getting the former Cal ball carrier on campus.

The Texas Longhorns are currently going through summer conditioning after reporting back to campus last week and another graduate transfer will join left tackle Calvin Anderson, as former California Golden Bears running back Tre Watson will arrive later this week:

The 5’10, 190-pounder is in the final stages of rehabilitation from the ACL injury that ended his season last fall and is expected to be fully healthy by the start of preseason camp.

In early May, Watson chose Texas over Texas Tech. He also visited LSU, but eliminated the Tigers just before making his decision.

The presence of Anderson helped convince Watson to head to the Forty Acres, as well as a wide-open depth chart at running back. Neither Daniel Young nor Toneil Carter, both sophomores, were able to emerge as a clearcut starter, while junior Kyle Porter dealt with an ankle injury during spring practice.

Watson gained 709 yards on five yards per carry during his breakout junior season at Cal, while adding 241 yards and four touchdowns through the air.
