On Sunday, head coach David Pierce and the Texas Longhorns baseball program picked up a commitment from 2019 Houston Episcopal outfielder Colton Rathjen:
i’m extremely honored and excited to say that i will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the university of texas. Hook ‘em !

The 5-11, 150-pounder is a switch hitter, according to Perfect Game USA, but there isn’t a lot of other information about Rathjen beyond that. Given the evaluations so far by Pierce and his assistants, there’s no reason to doubt Rathjen’s ability.
Rathjen is the 14th commitment for the Longhorns in the 2019 class and the second outfielder, joining Boerne’s Douglas Hodo.
