All Hope Rests On Ehlinger

Daily Round Up: July 23, 2018

NCAA Football: Texas Bowl-Texas vs Missouri Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Ta’Quon Graham came out of spring practice as one of the most improved defensive players in the program and could be one of the key players in the defensive line.

It’s all on Sam Ehlinger. “Ehlinger now stands 6-3, and he added about 15 pounds to his frame over the offseason, proof of months of grueling work with strength and conditioning coach Yancy McKnight. But all the additional bulk and new personal gym records won’t amount to much if Ehlinger can’t shake those backbreaking late-game mistakes.”

Breckyn Hager talks hair.

Tom Herman comes in at #28 in a ranking of college football’s head coaches. “Prior to his stints as a head coach, Herman was one of college football’s top assistant coaches at Ohio State (2012-14) and also had stints at Rice, Texas State and Iowa State. After inking the No. 3 signing class this year, Herman is starting to put the pieces into place for Texas to get back into contention for the Big 12 title.”

This is the first season true freshmen can play in up to four games without losing a redshirt. Look for several UT freshmen to get some playing time.
