Matt Coleman named preseason All-Big 12 honorable mention

The junior point guard was the only Longhorns player to receive recognition from the conference on Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, the Big 12 announced the preseason basketball awards, with Texas Longhorns junior point guard Matt Coleman earning recognition on the All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention team.

Coleman received the same honor last season before leading the team in assists (3.4 apg), minutes (30.7 mpg) and free throw percentage (.785), while ranking fourth in scoring (9.8 ppg) and tied for fourth in steals (30).

Texas will open the 2019-20 season at home against Northern Colorado on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. Central at the Frank Erwin Center on the Longhorn Network.
